A New Challenge in Our Race

Last Thursday, August 15, God's plan for us took an unexpected turn at least from our point of view when Terri's doctor found a mass in her colon. After further tests on Monday, she was diagnosed with colon cancer and told she would need surgery. Surgery has been scheduled for next Tuesday, August 27.

We believe and are certain of God's healing, though the journey will be out of our normal routine for a while. We appreciate your support in prayer for peace and strength and in encouraging scripture as we run this challenging race God has set before us to deepen our understanding of Him and His love.

We love you,
Pastor Joel and Terri

  2. As positive as I chose to be about all of this, I am also devastated Terri has to endure this. I know, I know, I am not God, but I DO ask "why" -

I know! It's "Dad" showing his powers again! Terri is His next miracle, and I am lucky enough to be around to experience it with her. I love and honor you both - my prayers are ever with you - Victory is yours....................Claudia Ledford

  5. Some of life's most challenging opportunities are presented to God's greatest warriors.

And warriors are built to fight. .. that's why we're equipped with armor. We walk with our feet shod in peace, we've got our breastplate of righteousness and sword of the spirit, our shield of faith, helmet of salvation....

The word says that we are to expect trials, battles, opportunities that will test and challenge our faith. Why? To make it stronger. To make us stronger. To give us a testimony to others of God's great healing power. But also because the enemy will always attack those whom he sees as a direct threat to his mission.

My mom is a 5+ year colon cancer survivor. Was it scary? You bet! Did we think the worst? Absolutely! Did we cry, panic, question? Oh yeah! But you know what? God proved faithful to His word. She underwent surgery and we were there by her side every step of the way. We all prayed while we anxiously waited in the waiting room. ..tried to stay calm and strong for my dad... that was the love of his life in there... his high school sweetheart. When the surgeon emerged... benign...cancer free! PRAISE AND GLORY TO GOD! We locked arms in prayer. .. in hope. .. in faith. .. we withstood the challenge and fought the good fight and came out victorious and I have no doubt that you will all do the same!

We have been given power and authority from God to speak healing... to declare victory over cancer. We lock arms with you in prayer and faith and loving you through it all, from a distance but by your side in spirit. Our Father, God, the Great Physician and Healer will prevail and what a testimony Terri will have to share with so many others! We anticipate news of her victory celebration!

Love, peace and strength to you all in Jesus name.
